  • Introducing the Concept Product CP161 – Removable 8 x EDSFF E1.S NVMe SSD enclosure for a single external 5.25” drive bay, providing frontal drive access without opening the computer case or using any tools.
  • The CP161 is a cutting-edge 8-bay E1.S SSD mobile rack designed to fit into a standard external 5.25" bay. This innovative solution allows system integrators, engineers, and enterprise users to install up to eight 15mm or 9.5mm E1.S PCIe Gen 5 SSDs in a compact, hot-swappable, and highly manageable form factor.
  • Powerful PCIe Gen 5.0 Performance with UBM Support
    With support for PCIe Gen 5.0 x4 speeds, each E1.S SSD in the CP161 can reach transfer rates of up to 128Gbps, delivering the bandwidth required for high-performance computing, AI, and hyperscale storage applications. The CP161 features UBM (Universal Backplane Management) compliance, ensuring seamless communication between the SSDs and system BMC for optimal power and thermal management, drive health monitoring, and slot control.
  • Flexible Bifurcation Support for Scalable Storage Expansion
    The CP161 includes 4 x MCIO 8i (SFF-TA-1016) connectors and supports PCIe bifurcation, allowing each SSD slot to operate in x4, x2, or x1 lane configurations. This enables full compatibility with select RAID/HBA cards from Broadcom, HighPoint, Areca, and others, providing the flexibility to connect more SSDs to a single host card without sacrificing speed or reliability.
  • Tool-less Drive Installation and Intelligent Tray Design
    Designed for convenience and efficiency, each of the eight metal trays supports tool-less installation of 15mm or 9.5mm E1.S SSDs, making maintenance and deployment faster and easier. Each tray is individually hot-swappable and equipped with front-facing LED indicators to provide real-time power and access status (green) and host-defined status (amber).
  • Built-in BMC and Jumper Configuration for System Integration
    The CP161 offers advanced management capabilities via its 5-pin BMC wafer header, allowing network remote system access for slot-level power control and drive status reading. It also includes dedicated jumpers for configuring PCIe lane modes and assigning unique backplane IDs (1–4) for managing multiple units in the same system environment.
  • Industrial-Grade Cooling and Rugged Construction
    To meet enterprise-class thermal demands, the CP161 is equipped with dual 40x40x20mm high-speed cooling fans (10,000RPM) and a well-designed airflow path that meets ASHRAE A2 thermal standards. The unit's full-metal body provides robust structural strength and efficient heat dissipation, ensuring long-term reliability even in high-performance applications.
